It’s a week before my birthday. As much as I’d like to look back on the 29 years that passed, I can only recall few memories that will probably stay with me until I die. Very few. These memories are a mixture of feelings — of scents. I’m a “scent” person. I associate experiences with the scents that were present at the time an event is actually happening. Call it whatever you want. I call it my memory ally. :-) I’ll write about it later when I get home. Got to go again… :-)

Disappointments abound in life. It happens whether you like it or not. It comes in the most unexpected ways, forms, people, events. I learned something today that I want to share to all of you. Don’t ever rest your happiness on people. Don’t rely on one or a few people for source of happiness, because if you do, you are bound to be disappointed, bound to be miserable. You must learn how to draw happiness from within yourself, your character, your strengths, your capabilities, your accomplishments, your experiences, your decisions. Doing so will make you feel happy no matter what happens in your life. You wouldn’t need that one person alone for validation. Today, I want to be happy just as I am. Today, I’ll be good to myself. I will trust myself that I’m capable of being happy. Only then can I be worthy of loving and being loved. So, you see, disappointments abound in life. How well you take them will spell your happiness or misery. Life is harsh. Life isn’t fair. Live it anyway.
