I know this entry doesn't belong here anymore since I've already made a lyrics blog. But since it's officially the First of May, 2008 and I love Bee Gees anyway, let me post this here, just this one time. :)
"First of May" by Bee Gees
When I was small, and christmas trees were tall, We used to love while others used to play. Dont ask me why, but time has passed us by, Some one else moved in from far away.
(chorus) Now we are tall, and christmas trees are small, And you dont ask the time of day. But you and i, our love will never die, But guess well cry come first of may.
The apple tree that grew for you and me, I watched the apples falling one by one. And I recall the moment of them all, The day I kissed your cheek and you were mine.
(chorus...)
When I was small, and christmas trees were tall, Do do do do do do do do do... Dont ask me why, but time has passed us by, Some one else moved in from far away.
I always say this and believed it to be true. I've told this to other people as well. But it's probably true that some things are easier said than done. And this is definitely one of those things. Here it is: "Some things are better left unsaid." It shouldn't require deep thought but right this minute, I am absorbing every letter as if I'm a 3-year old struggling with reading and comprehension at the same time. Knowing something doesn't mean you actually understand it. And understanding something doesn't mean you actually apply it.
Clock says it's 4:23AM and I'm still up. Can't seem to sleep. Don't know why. "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" by The Righteous Brothers is playing on the background and I'm thinking maybe that's true. Maybe it's happening to me in certain levels but I just wouldn't admit it. I guess it's easier to think that I didn't actually lose it yet, that I just misplaced it. And as the song goes I need to bring it back. I need to figure out where I left it, and I have to figure out soon or I might lose it forever. Well, good luck to me. :)
This review is late. Blame it on my procrastination. But since I promised I'll write a review for this movie, might as well stay true to my word. Let's begin with the basics. This movie stars two of the most-watched Asian action stars today -- Jet Li and Jackie Chan. Now, I love Jet Li and I love Jackie Chan. But I should say, I liked them better when I watched them on separate movies. Jackie Chan was, as always, amusing and fun to watch. The moment he opens his mouth, I know he's gonna say something really funny. And he did. Jet Li, on the other hand sounded a bit off in that movie. I didn't see the kind of character I loved in the many movies I saw of him. In my opinion, the story line is lame. And so is the "acting" lead character portrayed as "The Seeker". The kid certainly had "no kung fu" even after he learned from his masters. Don't get me wrong. I like the kung fu, and I enjoyed most if not all of the fight scenes. I just hoped they had a better story for Jackie and Jet. As it promotes in the posters, it's the first time they'll be in a movie together and perhaps never again. With the success of this movie though, box-office/money-wise, I guess we can expect that they might get together again. I give it 2 stars.

ARE YOU PROUDLY PINOY?
March is Women’s Month
Phenomenal Woman by: Maya Angelou
Many people wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
When I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
The flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
The joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Men themselves have wondered
what they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Now you understand
just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palms of my hands,
the need for my care.
Because I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's my mother and all your mothers
And my grandmothers and your grandmothers
And my great grandmothers and your greats
And my great greats
And yours
And all you women
And Me!
