Say what? PR7? A Wonderful Glitch!

This must be my lucky day. Well, I guess not really that lucky but few people I suppose would come across something as surprising as this. You see, I have Google’s PR button installed on my browser courtesy of course of the Google Toolbar. It’s very helpful for surfing because I can immediately tell the site’s/page’s relevance, at least in Google’s point of view. I’m new to blogging and web site maintenance, so SEO and PR, although known to me, aren’t the kind of stuff I spend time poring over..at least, not these past few weeks. As we all know, high PR is like a webmaster’s/blogger’s nirvana. So, imagine my surprise when after loading my first blog At A Loss for Words: Writings Of A Blogger Wannabe, I happen to have noticed something weird. PR7? On my blog??? what the? :) I went through a an odd mixture, roller-coaster ride of emotions. First there was awe. OMG! Even if I know in my mind and in my heart that there’s not the slightest hint of truth in it, the mere fact that I saw it even for a while was like heaven coming down on me. Bliss, I tell you, pure bliss. And then, there’s denial. NO! Something must have must have gone awfully wrong for this to happen. If there was a PR -10, that would be my PR! :) it does show on search results but I know better. Of course it shows up when I do the searching or “googling” for that matter, because I know exactly what keywords to use..haha.. Okay, so back to the emotions. Then, there was delusion. I told myself, hey, miracles happen right? Even with the guys at Google or their bots..hahaha.. And then, there’s more delusion and optimism, which when mixed in inappropriate proportions, becomes a more potent form of delusion. And then there’s realization. I pinched myself and eventually woke up to reality. It is just a glitch. And a what a wonderful glitch it had been. Actually the first “glitch” I’d like to see everyday. Anyway, you know the saying “relish the moment”.. So, what I did was to capture the moment. Heck, I thought, if anything, this would be fun to document right? It would either be an evidence of a “miracle” or an evidence of Google not being perfect after all.
