While everyone is home eagerly anticipating the delayed telecast of the Pacquiao-Hatton fight (which Pacquiao won by TKO at round 2!), I'm here at Tagaytay Garden Hotel overlooking the beautiful Taal lake for my new godson's christening.
I wish my new godson Hael Nikolai the best of everything. May God pour upon him countless blessings.
To my fellow Filipinos, woo hoo! Great job, Manny!
Allow me to make a humble "thank you" note
For all the people who remembered me and wrote.
For those who left messages everywhere and bothered
And those wonderful friends who chatted and lingered.
You who took time out from your otherwise busy day
You who stopped awhile, left me a message and did say,
My dear friend, RJ, I wish you a very "Happy Birthday"!
You who would have otherwise thought,
"Nah, she doesn't need a greeting
Look at her in that photo, she seems happy as a goat!"
And a goat -- indeed I am, for I was born in the year of the Ram,
And being an Aries, I tell you, happiness is but a jar of jam!
I see joy in everything, even where there is none.
I find comfort in a Being, higher than all of us, bar none. Continue reading →
A retrograde planet will always urge you to look back and fix things that have been left unfinished or unresolved. In that case, the universe is trying to help you by showing you the whole picture so that you can move on with your life. - Aries horoscope, March 2009
When I was a kid, I hated hearing "no" and "not now." To me, "no" and "not now" only meant the same thing -- it meant "never". Continue reading →
I know it's April Fools' Day. And if only for that reason, I'm not supposed to write anything serious. Because on the contrary, I'm expected to write something really hilarious or utterly impossible to believe. One that will make anyone who read this entry shake his/her head in utter disbelief hoping that what I wrote is nothing but my contribution to the many "foolish" entries written on April Fools' Day. I've always wondered if this song was composed post-Twitter. My guess it that this song came first. But Uncle Cracker sure as hell was prophetic, wasn't he?
First of all, hi. Maybe you know me or maybe you don't -- but what does it matter?
Maybe you care what I write about or maybe you don't -- but what does it matter?
Maybe you're a search bot or a web spider, maybe you're from Yahoo or maybe from Google -- but what does it matter? Continue reading →
This site is offsetting all electricity use with wind-generated Renewable Energy Certificates which prevent the release of 2,660 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere each year. That’s equivalent to planting nearly 2,390 acres of trees, or removing 510 cars from the road. Reinforcing my commitment to combating climate change.

ARE YOU PROUDLY PINOY?
March is Women’s Month
Phenomenal Woman by: Maya Angelou
Many people wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
When I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
The flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
The joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Men themselves have wondered
what they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Now you understand
just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palms of my hands,
the need for my care.
Because I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's my mother and all your mothers
And my grandmothers and your grandmothers
And my great grandmothers and your greats
And my great greats
And yours
And all you women
And Me!
