While everyone is home eagerly anticipating the delayed telecast of the Pacquiao-Hatton fight (which Pacquiao won by TKO at round 2!), I'm here at Tagaytay Garden Hotel overlooking the beautiful Taal lake for my new godson's christening.
I wish my new godson Hael Nikolai the best of everything. May God pour upon him countless blessings.
To my fellow Filipinos, woo hoo! Great job, Manny!
Kids definitely have wilder imagination than grown-ups. If you gave me "bread sticks", I'd munch it faster than I can imagine anything. And it's not because of gluttony -- it's because at this stage in my life, I have abandoned all interests in creativity. When I see bread, I see bread, and nothing else. My son, in contrast, at his young age of four, has taught me another valuable lesson -- to explore the beauty of possibility -- to see beyond what is obvious -- and more than that -- to have fun while doing it. I will always remember that from now on. This definitely adds a new meaning to that pessimistic question: "You can't possibly think that your idea will fly, can you?". Well, what do you know, I think it can. PS. I'm blogging through my phone.
First of all, hi. Maybe you know me or maybe you don't -- but what does it matter?
Maybe you care what I write about or maybe you don't -- but what does it matter?
Maybe you're a search bot or a web spider, maybe you're from Yahoo or maybe from Google -- but what does it matter? Continue reading →
Photo by Norbert AquendeI admit. Although UMobile sent me free 100-peso loads monthly for 6 consecutive months, I was really not that happy at all. For one, I have been a an ever-loyal Globe Handyphone subscriber ever since the advent of GSM and the popularity of prepaid phones and texting back in 1999. Okay, I know prepaid phones were Smart's idea through their "BillCrusher" scheme which definitely came earlier. But anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the first time I signed-up for a postpaid plan, in 2000 I think, I've always been with Globe. And I'm still with Globe until now. I did try Smart prepaid for a while solely because I've always wanted to try new things, and at that time I temporarily switched to Smart. I did so because of SmartMoney. It was shining, shimmering, splendid that time and the idea of a new mobile-based money service seemed like an interesting feature to toy with. So yes, Smart was first, yet again, to introduce mobile money/payment service. But since most of my family and friends were on Globe, a switch-back became inevitable, specially when I realized that I have no "real need" for that service at that time. More of my SmartMoney/Globe G-Cash experience in a separate post right here. Continue reading →
I got this new UMobile sim yesterday delivered right at my doorstep. I signed up for this almost a week ago and I'm just so happy I got mine that fast. Other blogger and Plurk friends have told me they haven't gotten theirs yet. I am excited about the Continue reading →
This site is offsetting all electricity use with wind-generated Renewable Energy Certificates which prevent the release of 2,660 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere each year. That’s equivalent to planting nearly 2,390 acres of trees, or removing 510 cars from the road.
